- AGENDA: The draft agenda is available here. Send additional items to Carrie Harmon.
- LODGING: The official hotel for both lodging and meetings on the 18th is the Holiday Inn University - Blacksburg. 30 lodging rooms have been reserved for your guests for the night(s) of 10/16/2007 - 10/17/2007, at the special group rate of $99.00 for single or double occupancy. That rate is subject to tax of 12% and a $1.05 nightly security fee for the in room safes. All reservations should be made by 09/26/2007. After this date, all remaining rooms will be returned to general inventory for sale at the prevailing rate. Guests can make reservations online at www.holiday-inn.com/blacksburgva, or by phone to 1-800-HOLIDAY (800-465-4329) or through our in-house reservations desk at (540)552-7001. Please be sure to reference the group code, UOF when booking online or the group name, University of Florida - Plant Pathology, when reserving by phone.
- TRANSPORTATION:
Transportation Options from Roanoke Regional Airport The Holiday Inn University is right across the street from the Inn at Virginia Tech, which is the Blacksburg stop for the shuttle (option 1 below).
- http://www.roanokeats.com/contactus.htm Roanoke Airport Transportation Service has an Airport shuttle between Blacksburg & Roanoke Airport, Reservations are required (1-800-288-1958). They operate a shuttle daily between Blacksburg, Radford, and the Roanoke Regional Airport. All trips depart from: The Inn at Virginia Tech, Blacksburg, and the Roanoke Regional Airport. All rates are $30.00 per person with a reservation. Shuttle times from the airport are 10:30 am, 2:30 pm, and 6:30 pm. Shuttle times from the Inn at VaTech to the airport are 8:25 am, 12:30 pm, and 4:15 pm. They provide limo/cab service also--probably most convenient & expensive option (1-800-288-1958).
- The Roanoke Regional Airport also has links for transportation on its home page: http://www.roanokeregionalairport.com/services/services.html, including links for rental cars. If folks want to carpool, this might be your most flexible option.
- SmartWay bus (http://www.smartwaybus.com/routeinfo.htm) cheap ($3.00), but doesn’t stop at the Inn, so a taxi would be required from Squires Student Center to the Holiday Inn (it’s not walking distance). The Airport Shuttle is much more expensive, but probably worth it for the convenience.
